Research Highlights Student projects

Visible light positioning

Algorithm development and hardware implementation of indoor visible light positioning systems, with applications to navigation systems.

Smart farm research

Implementation of indoor smart farm utilizing multiple sensors, remote monitoring, machine learning, localization and classification.

Applied Estimation Theory

Our researchers who work in this field mainly attempt to apply estimation techniques such as Kalman filter, extended Kalman filter, Particle filter, Unscented Kalman filter to determine a certain set of properties/quantities of a system based on noise corrupted measurements obtained from sensors. Applications include parameter estimation in communication/radar/navigation systems, image processing, and sensor/information fusion.

Sensor and Sensors Networks

The research work in BU-CROCCCS in the field of sensors/sensors networks varies from developing sensors utilizing different technologies at the physical layer to the system level of a network of sensors. For example, the wireless sensor networks research group at BU-CROCCS conducts research on a variety of systems, networking and data management issues in data-centric sensor networks.

Optoelectronics
